Born and raised in British Columbia, Katharine Olson grew up in a family of strata managers, fostering her early passion for strata management. She earned a degree in Sociology and Psychology from UBC, obtained her real estate license in 2011, and subsequently earned her managing broker license while working throughout BC, from Vancouver and Whistler to Williams Lake, managing both strata and rental communities.
In 2017, Katharine took a detour and joined the retail sector as a manager and trainer at a Fortune 500 company. This experience reshaped her understanding of how effective training can profoundly impact a team's success. She returned to strata management in 2020 and, by 2022, was instrumental in developing an industry-recognized training program at one of BC’s largest property management firms, serving as instructor for the Advanced Strata Management course for the Professional Association of Managing Agents, and speaking at industry forums such as Buildex.
When she's not nerding out on housing governance and policy, Katharine is often found chasing her energetic seven-year-old, dancing around the kitchen, organizing or DIYing something, or enjoying the beautiful parks in the city.
Katharine brings a collaborative mindset, an imaginative yet grounded approach, and bold, honest care to everything she undertakes. She's committed to reshaping the BC housing industry through genuine advocacy, improved education, and support that prioritizes the needs of everyday folks.
