My story
Meet Katharine Olson, a proud Vancouverite with deep roots in the world of strata management. Growing up in a family of strata managers, she developed a love for the field early on. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Sociology and Psychology, and in 2011, she obtained her real estate license, followed by her managing broker license, and managed a variety of strata and rental properties across British Columbia, from Greater Vancouver to Whistler to Williams Lake.
In 2017, she took a detour and joined the retail sector as a manager and trainer at a Fortune 500 company. This experience gave her valuable insights into effective training practices that she later brought back to the strata industry. In 2020, she returned to her roots, and by 2022, found herself at one of the largest property management brokerages in BC. There, she played a key role in developing an innovative training program for strata managers that earned rave reviews in the industry.
Katharine is an active member of the Education Committee for the Professional Association of Managing Agents (PAMA). She currently instructs the PAMA Advanced Strata Management course at Langara College and enjoys sharing her knowledge at various speaking events, including Buildex.
When she’s not nerding out on strata, you can find Katharine chasing after her 5-year-old son, enjoying documentaries, dancing, eating good food, or exploring the beautiful parks and pools around the city.
With her collaborative approach, relatable style and genuine passion for helping others, Katharine is dedicated to making the strata management experience better for everyone.
